The apprenticeship framework offers manufacturers a structured route to build a skilled workforce, but its provisions and incentives are not always well understood.
Mr. Rufus George of NSDC gave an overview of the scheme — eligibility, engagement limits, stipend and reimbursement provisions, and the compliance obligations that come with taking apprentices on.
The session was aimed squarely at the Hosur industrial belt, where apprenticeship is a significant route into employment, and drew a strong turnout of HR and plant representatives.
